Alright, let’s talk about them 20 watt bulbs, you know, the things you stick in them lamps to see stuff. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know a thing or two ’bout keepin’ things lit up around the house.

Now, you got all sorts of these bulbs, I tell ya. Some say they’re the same as a 150 watt, but they only use 20 watts. Fancy talk, if you ask me. But I guess it means they don’t cost as much to run. That’s good, ’cause every penny counts, ya know? These LED bulbs, they call ‘em, say they last a long, long time. Heard tell they can go for 20,000 hours. That’s a whole lotta lightin’, I reckon. And they come in different colors too, like that “daylight white” they talk about. Makes things look real bright and clear, like you’re outside on a sunny day.
Then you got them little ones, for the ceiling fans and such. Some say they’re only 5 watts but look like a 40 watt. More fancy talk, I guess. But they’re good for them little lights, you know, the ones you don’t need to be too bright. And some of ’em, you can even make ’em dimmer, if you don’t want so much light. That’s nice, I guess, if you’re tryin’ to set a mood or somethin’.
- Bright ones: Like them 150 watt equivalent ones, good for seein’ everything real good.
- Little ones: For fans and stuff, not too bright, just enough to see where you’re goin’.
- Dimmable ones: So you can make the light softer, like for when you’re watchin’ TV.
I saw some that are for them salt lamps, too. Little bitty things, they are. But they gotta be tough, ’cause them salt lamps get hot, I hear. They say these bulbs can handle the heat. That’s important, you don’t want no fires startin’ up, no sir. They also got these halogen ones, and they say they replace the old ones. I don’t know much about that, but I guess if your old one burns out, you gotta get a new one, right?
Now, where you get these bulbs matters too. Some folks go to them big stores, like Walmart or Home Depot, they call ‘em. Said they got lots to choose from, and you can even order online and pick ‘em up. That’s handy, I guess, if you ain’t got time to wander around the store. But me, I like to see what I’m gettin’, ya know? Hold it in my hand, make sure it ain’t broke or nothin’. And I always ask the fella workin’ there which one’s the best. They usually know what they’re talkin’ about.
And speaking of brightness, some of these bulbs are real bright, they say, like 874 lumens or somethin’. I don’t know what that means, but I guess it means it’s bright! They say them fluorescent bulbs are good for places where you need lots of light all the time, like in the kitchen or somethin’. And them incandescent bulbs, they’re warmer, like for the bedroom, so you don’t get blinded when you get up in the middle of the night. But them LED ones, they seem to be the best of both worlds, bright and long-lasting, and they don’t use up too much juice, which is important.
So, when you’re lookin’ for a 20 watt bulb, you gotta think about what you need it for. Bright or dim? Big or little? And how long you want it to last? And don’t forget to check the price, ’cause them fancy ones can cost a pretty penny. But if they last longer, maybe it’s worth it in the end. That’s what I always say, you get what you pay for, most times anyway.
And remember, safety first! Make sure you turn off the power before you change a bulb. Don’t want nobody gettin’ shocked now, do we? And if you ain’t sure what you’re doin’, ask someone who does. No shame in askin’ for help, that’s what I say.
So there you have it, my two cents on them 20 watt bulbs. Hope it helps ya out some. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make sure I turned off all the lights in the house. Don’t wanna waste no electricity, you know!
