Alright, so, I’ve been meaning to get a new bird cage for my feathered friend, Polly, and I thought I’d share my little adventure of finding the perfect one. I decided to go with an A & E cage, as I’ve heard good things about them.

First things first, I had to figure out the right size. Now, Polly is a lovebird, quite small, but boy, is she active! I remember reading somewhere that birds, especially lovebirds, need space to spread their wings and flutter around. They are not helicopters, you know, they need to fly horizontally. So, I started looking into the dimensions.
I stumbled upon some advice suggesting a minimum of 32” x 20” x 20” for a pair of lovebirds. Since I only have Polly, I figured I could go a bit smaller, but not too much. I also learned that width and length are more important than height. Makes sense, right?
Next, I started browsing through different A & E models. They have so many options! I wanted something sturdy and durable, but also affordable. After some digging, I came across their Dome Top Bird Cage. It looked perfect – spacious, well-built, and it wouldn’t break the bank.
After deciding on the model, I checked out the details. The bar spacing was just right, not too wide to let Polly squeeze through, but not too narrow either. I also made sure there was enough space for perches, food and water dishes, and a little bath area. Polly loves her baths!
I also considered getting some water bottles instead of regular dishes. I heard they’re cleaner and less likely to get contaminated. Polly deserves the best, after all.
Finally, I placed the order and waited for it to arrive. When it did, I was pretty excited to set it up. It took a bit of time, but it wasn’t too difficult. I added some perches at different heights, her favorite toys, and of course, the food and water dishes.
Seeing Polly hop around in her new spacious home, chirping happily, I knew I made the right choice. It was definitely worth the effort.
- Step 1: Researching the right size and understanding bird behavior.
- Step 2: Exploring A & E bird cage models.
- Step 3: Choosing the Dome Top Bird Cage and checking specifications.
- Step 4: Considering water bottles for hygiene.
- Step 5: Ordering, receiving, and setting up the cage with accessories.
And that’s my story of getting a new A & E bird cage for Polly. It was quite the journey, but I learned a lot along the way, and I’m happy to share it with you all.
