Okay, here is my sharing about building an A&E elegant flight cage:

So I’ve been wanting to give my bird, Nala, a bigger and better home. I saw this A&E Elegant Flight Cage online and thought, “Why not try building it myself?” It looked pretty neat, and I figured I could save a few bucks. Plus, I like doing these kinds of projects.
First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I got some wood pieces to make the frames. I mean, you gotta start with a solid base, right? I measured and cut the wood into equal lengths to make square frames. It took a bit of time, but I ended up with six square frames. I nailed them together, making sure they were sturdy.
Then came the fun part – adding the wire mesh. I used a staple gun to attach the wire mesh to each frame. It was a bit tricky, making sure the mesh was tight and secure. I didn’t want Nala getting out or anything like that! This part took a while because I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I didn’t want to mess up after all this hard work.
Putting It All Together
- I assembled the frames, creating the cage’s structure.
- It was like putting together a big puzzle. I had to make sure each frame fit perfectly with the others.
- And then there was this large front door, which I thought was pretty cool. It has a safety latch, which is super important. I mean, you don’t want your bird flying out when you open the door, do you?
Next, I added a slide-out metal grill and a plastic tray at the bottom. This makes cleaning so much easier. I just slide them out, clean them, and slide them back in. Simple as that! And let me tell you, this was a lifesaver. Nala can be quite messy.
Finishing Touches
- I also put in four casters so I could move the cage around easily.
- And there’s this storage shelf at the bottom, which is pretty handy for keeping Nala’s food and toys.
- I was really proud of how it all came together.
The best part? The whole thing can be folded up for storage. I didn’t think I’d need this feature, but it’s actually come in handy a few times when I needed to make space in the room.
Building this A&E Elegant Flight Cage was quite the adventure. It wasn’t always easy, but seeing Nala enjoy her new home made it all worth it. She seems happier and has so much more space to fly around. I even added a few perches and toys to keep her entertained. Every time I look at the cage, I feel a sense of accomplishment. And honestly, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. If I can do it, anyone can!
