Okay, so, I have this birdcage, right? It’s an A&E one, pretty standard, rectangular type. Thing is, it’s starting to show its age, and some parts are just, well, not in great shape anymore. I figured, instead of buying a whole new cage, why not just replace the worn-out bits? Cheaper and seems less wasteful.

First thing I did was take a good, hard look at the cage. It’s got your basic setup – four sides, a door, and a top. I noticed the trays at the bottom were looking pretty rough. Lots of, you know, bird stuff caked on that just wouldn’t come off no matter how hard I scrubbed. And the grates? Forget about it. Rusty and just plain gross. Time for those to go, for sure.
So I hit up the internet, trying to find replacements. I typed in “A&E bird cage replacement parts” into the search bar, and, boom, a bunch of options popped up. Mostly online stores, which is fine by me. I don’t really feel like going to a physical store if I don’t have to, you know?
I found this one site that seemed pretty legit. They had a whole section dedicated to A&E cages. Clicked on that, and they had everything listed out – trays, grates, even replacement bowls made of colored stainless steel. Fancy!
- Trays: They had different sizes, so I measured the old ones to make sure I got the right fit.
- Grates: Same deal, measured the old ones and found the matching replacements.
- Bowls: I didn’t really need new bowls, but those colored ones looked kinda cool. Might grab a couple just to spruce things up a bit.
They also had some other stuff like toy parts, window decals, books, and even some free stuff. I didn’t really look into those, though. Maybe another time. They also have these locks for sale, 9.95 dollars each, pretty cheap right?
They also have replacement cups for many brands like Avian Adventures, AE Cages, Prevue Hendryx.
Anyway, I added the trays and grates to my cart. I’m still thinking about those colored bowls. They offer many payment methods so I don’t need to worry about that. The process was smooth. I think it is easy to find replacement parts online these days.
All in all, it was a pretty straightforward experience. Found what I needed without too much hassle. Now I just gotta wait for the parts to arrive, and then my bird’s gonna have a spruced-up home. I’ll probably make another post when I actually do the replacements. It shouldn’t be too hard, just swapping out the old for the new. We’ll see how it goes!
