8 watt, that means it uses 8 of those things they call joules every second. Don’t ask me what a joule is, I just know it’s related to electricity. The electricity company, they charge by those kilowatt-hours. So 8 watts, that’s like 0.008 kilowatts. That’s a small number, right? So it don’t use much electricity. Good for saving money, I guess.

Different things need different amounts of watts. Like that oven, when you turn it up high, it uses more watts. And that washing machine, it uses different amounts depending on what you’re washing. It’s all complicated, I tell ya.
