Alright, let’s talk about this dog spray perfume stuff. You know, for makin’ your dog smell… well, less like a dog, I guess. I ain’t never used this fancy stuff on my old Bessie, she smelled like a dog and that was that. But times are changin’, I hear.

What is this dog perfume anyway?
Seems like it’s just some kinda spray stuff, you know? Like what them fancy ladies in town use, but for dogs. They say it makes ‘em smell good. I seen some folks sayin’ there’s different kinds, too. Some strong, some not so strong. Some for sensitive dogs, some not. Like people, I guess, some got allergies and such. You gotta be careful what you spray on them, just like you gotta be careful what you feed ‘em.
Why would ya even need dog perfume?
Well, I reckon some dogs, they just get stinky. Roll around in who-knows-what, get into the garbage, that kinda thing. And bathin’ a dog, well, that ain’t always easy, is it? Specially if you got a big ol’ dog or one that don’t like water. So, I guess the perfume is a quicker way to make ‘em smell decent. Some folks even say it can make their fur shiny, too. Shiny dog, who knew? But be careful, don’t spray it in their mouths or eyes, common sense, ain’t it?
- Keep it safe! Make sure the stuff you get ain’t gonna hurt your dog. Read the label, if you can. If not, ask someone who can. Some of that stuff might have things in it that ain’t good for ‘em.
- Don’t overdo it! A little dab’ll do ya, like my grandma used to say about her perfume. Your dog don’t need to smell like a flower shop exploded on ‘em. Just a little spritz is probably enough.
- Where to spray? I hear you ain’t supposed to spray it right in their face. Maybe on their back or their belly. And don’t go crazy with it. Like I said, a little bit goes a long way.
Makin’ your own dog perfume?
Now, I heard some folks are makin’ their own perfume for their dogs. Can you believe that? Mix some water, maybe some coconut oil, and some of them essential oils, like lavender or somethin’. Sounds kinda fancy, don’t it? But I guess if you know what you’re doin’, it might be cheaper and safer than buyin’ that store-bought stuff. Just make sure you ain’t usin’ nothin’ that’ll hurt your dog. Like I said before, be careful with them essential oils. Some smells that are okay for you and me might not be good for your dog. They’re animals, you know? Their noses are different than ours.
Groomers and dog smell
Now, them groomers, they know how to make a dog smell good. They bathe ‘em, cut their hair, all that fancy stuff. And I reckon they use some kinda special shampoo and stuff, too. If you don’t want to deal with the spray and are not sure about the DIY spray, or bathin’ your dog, take them to a groomer. That’s what city folk do right? Maybe that’s easier than trying to spray them down yourself with this dog perfume. And they probably got all the good smells, too. But groomers ain’t free, that’s for sure. So, if you’re watchin’ your pennies, maybe the perfume is a better way to go. Or just let your dog be a dog and smell like one!
Dog perfume safety and risks
I hear too much spray can bother a dog. Like how it might bother you or me. They can’t tell you if their noses and throats get messed up from it. Be smart about it, that’s all I’m sayin’. And again, don’t spray it right in their face or mouth. Just a little bit is more than enough. If your dog coughs or acts strange after you spray it, stop it, it’s bothering them.

Anyways, that’s what I know about this dog spray perfume. Seems like a lot of fuss over a dog smellin’ like a dog, if you ask me. But times are changin’, like I said. And if you wanna make your dog smell like a daisy or somethin’, well, that’s your business.
Some dog perfume brands
There’s so many different kinds, makes your head spin. PAWFUME, Hepper, just to name a couple. Seems like everybody’s sellin’ dog perfume now. Guess it’s a good business to be in. Makes ya wonder if people are payin’ more attention to how their dogs smell than to how they smell themselves.
