So, the other day I decided to take my dog, Buddy, for a swim. He loves water, but I’ve always been a bit worried about water getting into his ears. You know how it is – it’s not fun for us, so why would it be fun for them?

I remembered seeing something about earplugs for dogs online, and I figured it was worth a shot. I did some digging, just a quick search, and found a few options. Most of them looked like the usual foam earplugs we use, but smaller. Some even came in those tiny plastic bags.
I ordered a pair that seemed to get good reviews. They arrived pretty fast, and I was eager to try them out. When I first showed them to Buddy, he was a bit hesitant. I mean, who wouldn’t be? They’re these weird little things you’re trying to stick in your ears!
- First, I let him sniff them and get used to the idea.
- Then, I gently inserted them into his ears. It took a bit of patience, but we managed.
Off to the Lake
We headed to the lake, and I watched Buddy like a hawk. He jumped right in, splashing around like he always does. The earplugs seemed to stay in place just fine. I was so relieved! It was great to see him enjoy the water without me constantly worrying about his ears. They really do work!
After the swim, I carefully removed the earplugs. His ears were dry as a bone! Success! I was so happy that I found something to protect his ears and let him enjoy swimming without any problems. Now that I know they work, I am gonna use them every time we go swimming, no need to worry about water in his ears.
These dog earplugs are definitely a game-changer. If your dog loves to swim, I’d say give them a try. It’s worth it for the peace of mind and your dog’s comfort, and this also can protect them from potential infections.
