Okay, so, I’ve been trying out this “Tops Prime Dog Food” thing for my furry friend, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a journey. I started because, well, my dog’s getting older, and I wanted to make sure he’s getting the good stuff, you know? Not just any old kibble.

First off, I did some digging. What should even be in good dog food? Turns out, it’s all about high-quality proteins, like chicken, beef, fish and those things. Apparently, some carbs are good, too, like fruits and veggies, and some healthy fats. Also need to avoid corn, potatoes, carrageenan, artificial colors and flavors, and some preservatives.
So, I went to the store, armed with my newfound knowledge. I checked out a bunch of brands, but “Tops” caught my eye because it mentioned having a good amount of named meat meal. Seemed like a decent source of animal protein.
I started mixing it in with his old food, just a little at a time. Gotta ease them into it, right? I noticed right away he seemed to like the taste. He’d gobble it up no problem.
- Week 1: Mostly his old food, with a sprinkle of Tops. No tummy troubles, which was a good sign.
- Week 2: Upped the Tops ratio. Still good. He actually seemed more energetic, running around like a pup again!
- Week 3: Half and half now. His coat started looking shinier, if you can believe it. And, uh, his “output” was looking healthier, if you know what I mean.
- Week 4: Almost entirely on Tops. I’m no vet, but he seems like a whole new dog! More playful, better digestion.
Conclusion
I kept this up, and honestly, I think switching to Tops Prime Dog Food was one of the best things I did for my dog. He’s got more pep in his step, his coat’s looking great, and he just seems happier overall. I guess it’s true what they say about good food making a difference. Who knew?
I will keep buying the food for my dog, and I will try other food from Tops brand in the future.
Of course, every dog’s different, so you gotta see what works for your buddy. But if you’re thinking about making a change, I’d say give Tops a shot. It definitely worked wonders for my furry pal. Just remember to look for those good proteins and avoid the bad stuff, it seems to make all the difference.
