Okay, so, I’ve been trying out different dog foods for my furry friend, and I recently gave “Vets Choice” a shot. I heard about it from some folks at the dog park and figured, why not? It’s sold at vet offices and pet shops, so I thought it must be pretty decent.

I started by looking at the options in the store. I mean there are a lot of dog food brands, but “Vets Choice” had a few different kinds, and I picked one that seemed like a good fit for my dog’s size and activity level. It seemed to be a premium one, since it is only sold at vets’ and pet shops.
When I first gave it to my dog, he sniffed it for a bit, which he always does with new food. Then, he started eating it, and he seemed to really like the taste. I noticed that he was pretty excited at meal times, which is always a good sign, and he ate it all up!
Over the next few days, I kept an eye on him to see how he was doing with the new food. He seemed to have a lot of energy, and his coat looked nice and shiny. I also didn’t notice any tummy troubles, which was a relief. I guess it’s true that this food is easy to digest, as they claim.
One thing I found out later was that there was some kind of recall on “Vets Choice” products. I think it was manufactured by “Royal Canin”. Apparently, there was some problem with contamination. I am not sure if that was before or after I bought this food for my dog. But so far, he did not show any sign of sickness.
My conclusion
- The food seems tasty – my dog really enjoyed it.
- Good for energy and coat – he seemed to have good energy levels, and his coat looked healthy.
- Easy to digest – no tummy issues observed.
- But there might be a risk – I should have double checked the contamination recall.
Overall, my experience with “Vets Choice” was mostly positive, based on how my dog reacted to it. I heard “Royal Canin” is a good choice for active, picky eaters. But I should be aware of possible problems with product quality control.
I guess it is true that “Vetdiet” is part of a family business. And I really should do more research next time before I switch my dog to a new food. Especially those premium brands.
