Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make some homemade dog treats for my pup for a while now, and I finally got around to it. I decided to try making sweet potato and chicken wraps because, well, who doesn’t love sweet potatoes and chicken? Plus, I heard it’s good for them. Let me tell you, it was a bit of an adventure, but totally worth it!

First, I gathered all my ingredients. I needed some sweet potatoes, of course, and some chicken breasts. I also grabbed some eggs. I think some people use flour, but I decided to skip that.
Then, I got down to cooking. I boiled the sweet potatoes until they were nice and soft. While those were going, I cooked the chicken breasts in a pan. I’m not the best cook, so I just fried them up until they were cooked through. Nothing fancy here!
Once everything was cooked, I let it cool down for a bit. Then came the fun part – mashing! I mashed the sweet potatoes in a big bowl. I added in some eggs to hold it all together. I shredded the cooked chicken into small pieces and tossed that into the bowl with the sweet potato mash. I mixed everything together until it was all combined.
- Boiled sweet potatoes
- Cooked and shredded chicken
- Mixed it all up with eggs
Next, I spread the mixture onto a baking sheet. Now, I wanted to make them into little wraps, so I tried my best to shape them. Let’s just say they weren’t the prettiest things, but hey, my dog doesn’t care about looks, right?
I popped them in the oven at a low temperature for a few hours. I wanted them to be kind of chewy, not super crunchy. The waiting was the hardest part, especially with the delicious smell wafting through the kitchen.
The Result
Finally, they were done! I took them out and let them cool completely. My dog was going crazy at this point, so I gave him one to try. And guess what? He loved them! He gobbled it down in seconds and was begging for more. Success!
So, yeah, that’s my story of making sweet potato and chicken wraps for my dog. It was a bit messy and took some time, but seeing my furry friend enjoy them so much made it all worthwhile. I think I’ll be making these again for sure. Maybe next time I’ll try adding some other veggies, like carrots or green beans. I saw a guy on Quora mention it’s okay. If you’re looking for a fun and healthy treat to make for your dog, I definitely recommend giving these a try!
