Alright, let’s gab about this… uh… stewart raw naturals dog food, or whatever they call it. My old man, bless his heart, he always said, “Ya gotta feed the critters right, or they ain’t gonna be worth a lick.” So, this here dog food, it’s supposed to be all natural, like, nothin’ but the good stuff in it, ya know?

Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker with all them degrees and whatnot. But I know what’s what when it comes to feedin’ animals. We used to just give the dogs scraps from the table, maybe some leftover cornbread and gravy. But these days, they got all this fancy stuff. Says it’s “raw” and it’s “natural,” like it came straight from the farm, I reckon.
- Good stuff, they say: They say it’s got all the vitamins and what-nots to make yer dog jump and play like a puppy again. Good for their bones, their brains, the whole shebang. I guess that’s important, especially if you got one of them show dogs. Ours is just a mutt, but we love him just the same.
But here’s the thing, this raw food thing, it kinda makes me scratch my head. Back in my day, we cooked everything. Didn’t want no bad germs gettin’ into ya. Now they’re tellin’ me it’s better to give it to the dogs raw? I ain’t so sure about that. I heard tell that raw meat can have bad stuff in it, like salmonella or somethin’. Don’t want the poor dog gettin’ sick, do we? Makes a body wonder, don’t it?
So, you got all these companies now, makin’ this raw dog food. They say it’s easier than cookin’ it yerself. And they’ll even bring it right to your door! Sounds kinda convenient, I gotta admit. But is it worth the extra money? That’s what I’m tryin’ to figure out. My neighbor, she feeds her dog this fancy stuff, and that dog’s got more energy than a squirrel on a sugar rush. Maybe there’s somethin’ to it.
They say this “stewart raw naturals dog food”, or whatever, is made with real ingredients, not all that processed junk. That sounds good to me. I always say, the simpler, the better. Like that time I tried makin’ one of them fancy cakes from a box…tasted like cardboard! Give me a good old-fashioned apple pie any day.
- Fresh is best, maybe? I read somewhere that fresh food is good for a dog’s bones and brains and all that. Well, that makes sense. If it’s good for us, it’s probably good for them too, right? I always tell my grandkids, “Eat your vegetables!” Maybe I should start tellin’ the dog that too!
- Easy peasy, lemon squeezy? Some folks say this raw food is just as easy as feedin’ ’em that kibble stuff. Well, that’d be a load off my mind. I ain’t got time to be fussin’ over a dog’s dinner all day long.
But then again, there’s that whole germ thing. Makes me nervous. I reckon if you’re gonna feed your dog raw food, you gotta be real careful. Wash your hands good, keep everything clean. And make sure you’re gettin’ it from a good company, one that knows what they’re doin’. I mean, you wouldn’t eat somethin’ that looked or smelled funny, would ya? Same goes for the dog, I figure.
I saw one ad that said somethin’ about “air-dried” raw food. Now, that sounds interestin’. Maybe that’s a good way to get all the benefits of raw food without the risk of gettin’ sick. It’s like they took the good stuff and made it safe. Kinda like how we used to dry apples on the porch in the summertime. Kept ’em good all winter long. Might be worth lookin’ into, I guess.
So, I don’t know what to tell ya. This stewart raw naturals dog food, maybe it’s the best thing since sliced bread, maybe it’s just a bunch of hooey. You gotta do your own research, talk to your vet, and see what’s right for your dog. But one thing’s for sure, feedin’ ’em right is important. They’re part of the family, after all.
And remember, a happy dog is a healthy dog. And a healthy dog is a whole lot of fun. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my own critter. He’s lookin’ at me like I’m hidin’ a steak behind my back!
