Well, hey there, y’all! Let me tell ya somethin’ about makin’ these here sweet potato wrapped with chicken dog treats. My old dog, bless his heart, he just loves ’em. And let me tell ya, they ain’t hard to make, even for an old gal like me.

First off, ya gotta get yourself some sweet potatoes. Now, I like the ones that are kinda orange and firm, ya know? Not too soft, not too hard. Just right. You wash ’em good, get all that dirt off. Then, I just cut ’em up into little pieces. Not too big, not too small. Think about the size of your dog’s mouth, ya know? You don’t want ’em chokin’ on it.
Then, you gotta cook them sweet potatoes. I usually just boil ’em ’til they’re soft. You can bake ’em too, if you want, but boilin’ is faster for me. Once they’re soft, you mash ’em up real good. Like, baby food soft. I use a fork, but you can use whatever you got. Make sure there ain’t no lumps, dogs don’t like lumps.
Next up is the chicken. Now, I use chicken breasts, the kind without the bones and skin. Makes it easier, ya know? You can use whatever chicken you got, but make sure it’s cooked good. I usually boil it, but sometimes I bake it. Just make sure it’s cooked all the way through. Then, you gotta shred it up real fine. Like, pulled pork fine. I use my hands, but you can use forks or whatever you got.
Okay, now comes the fun part. You take a little bit of that mashed sweet potato, and you flatten it out in your hand. Like a little pancake, ya know? Then, you take a little bit of that shredded chicken and put it in the middle. Then, you wrap that sweet potato around the chicken, like a little burrito. Make sure it’s all sealed up good, so the chicken don’t fall out.
- Get good sweet potatoes, wash and cut them.
- Boil or bake the sweet potatoes until soft, then mash them well.
- Cook chicken breasts thoroughly, then shred them finely.
- Flatten some mashed sweet potato, add shredded chicken, and wrap it up.
Now, you can bake these treats if you want, to make ’em a little crispy. I usually put ’em in the oven at, oh, I don’t know, maybe 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or so. Just keep an eye on ’em, ya know? You don’t want ’em to burn. Or, if you’re in a hurry, you can just give ’em to your dog just like that. They’re good either way.
These sweet potato wrapped with chicken dog treats are real good for your dog. Sweet potatoes got all them vitamins and minerals, and the chicken is good protein. Keeps ’em healthy and strong, ya know? And they love ’em! My old dog, he just gobbles ’em right up. Makes me happy to see him happy.
And let me tell ya, makin’ these treats is a whole lot cheaper than buyin’ them fancy ones at the store. And you know what’s in ’em, ya know? No funny stuff. Just good, wholesome food. That’s what I like. And that’s what my dog likes too.
So there ya have it. Sweet potato wrapped with chicken dog treats. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Even an old gal like me can do it. And your dog will thank ya for it. Trust me on that. They’ll be waggin’ their tail and lickin’ your face, happy as can be. And that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Makin’ our furry friends happy.
Oh, and one more thing! You can make a big batch of these and freeze ’em. Just put ’em in a freezer bag, and they’ll keep for a long time. Then, you can just take out a few whenever you need ’em. Easy peasy, like I said.
Now, go on and make some treats for your dog. They deserve it. They give us so much love, it’s the least we can do. And who knows, maybe you’ll even enjoy makin’ ’em. I do. It’s kinda therapeutic, ya know? Just messin’ around in the kitchen, makin’ somethin’ good for someone you love. That’s what life’s all about, ain’t it?

Alright, I’m done talkin’ your ear off. Go on now, get to cookin’! And don’t forget to give your dog a big hug from me.
