Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little projects. This time, it’s about something a little different – fish! Yeah, you heard that right. I got myself into the world of aquariums and decided to document the whole journey, starting with the cost of one of the most popular fish out there – mollies.

So, I started this whole thing not knowing a single thing about fish or aquariums. But I was curious, and I had heard that mollies are pretty easy to take care of, which is perfect for a beginner like me. First thing I did was hit up the internet to see what I was getting myself into, especially regarding the price.
I read through all these websites and forums, and let me tell you, it’s a whole world out there. People are really into their fish! Anyway, I found out that the price of mollies can vary quite a bit. Most places said they usually go for about $2 to $4 each. But then, depending on the type and color, some can go for a bit more.
My Trip to the Pet Store
Armed with this information, I headed to a local pet store. I wanted to see these prices in action and also get a feel for the whole aquarium setup. Walking into the store, I was immediately drawn to the vibrant colors and the variety of fish they had.
I spotted the mollies and started checking out the different types. They had so many! From the simple black ones to some with really fancy patterns and colors. I asked the guy working there about the prices, and he confirmed what I had read online. Most of the common mollies were indeed around $2 to $4. But then he showed me some rarer ones that were priced higher, some even going up to $25.
Decision Time
- Decided to start with the basics.
- Picked out a few common mollies, which were $3 each.
- Felt good about not breaking the bank for my first fish.
After much deliberation, I decided to go with a few of the simpler, cheaper mollies. They were about $3 each, and I figured it was a good starting point. I also grabbed a small tank, some decorations, and all the other stuff you need for an aquarium. It all added up, but it was worth it to get started on this new hobby.
So, that’s my story about getting into the world of mollies. It’s been a fun and interesting journey so far, and I’m excited to see where it goes. I’ll keep you all updated on how my little fish are doing and any other adventures I have with my aquarium. Stay tuned!
