Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this dog stuff, “the missing link dog,” they call it. Sounds fancy, but it’s just food for your dog, ya know? My old Bessie, bless her heart, she’s gettin’ up there in years. Her fur was lookin’ dull, like a worn-out rug, and she wasn’t jumpin’ around like she used to. Made me think, “Maybe she’s missin’ somethin’ in her food.”

I went to the store, you know, the big one with all the pet stuff, and this lady there, she talked a mile a minute ’bout “omega this” and “omega that.” Said this “missing link” stuff had all the good things dogs need, things they don’t get from them regular dog food bags. I tell ya, these city folks, they make things so complicated. Back in my day, dogs ate scraps and lived long, happy lives.
- But times change, I guess. So, I bought a bag of this “missing link” powder. Smelled kinda fishy, to be honest.
- Bessie, she sniffed it at first, looked at me like I was tryin’ to poison her.
- But then, she ate it! Go figure. Dogs will eat just about anything.
Now, I ain’t no scientist, but I swear, after a few weeks, Bessie started lookin’ better. Her fur got shiny, like a brand new penny. She even started chasin’ squirrels again, though she ain’t never caught one in her life. Poor old girl, she tries though. This missing link stuff, it seems to help her tummy too. She used to get the rumblies somethin’ fierce, but now, she’s regular as clockwork, if you know what I mean.
I heard some folks say their dogs are picky eaters. Well, Bessie ain’t one of them. She’ll eat anything you put in front of her, but I can tell she likes this missing link stuff. She licks her bowl clean every time. It’s got that kelp stuff in it, I think. Smells like the ocean when you open the bag. Reminds me of the time I went to the beach with my grandbabies. They loved it, buildin’ sandcastles and chasin’ seagulls.
Anyways, back to the dog food. This “missing link,” it’s supposed to have them probiotics too. I ain’t sure what them are, but the lady said they’re good for the dog’s belly. And somethin’ ’bout fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6. Sounds like somethin’ you put in your car, not somethin’ you feed your dog. But hey, if it works, it works.
I even seen some folks on the internet, writin’ ’bout this stuff for their older dogs, like my Bessie. Sayin’ it helps ’em move around better, makes their fur softer. I guess it’s true, ’cause Bessie ain’t been whinin’ when she gets up in the mornin’ like she used to. She’s still a bit slow, but hey, she’s an old lady dog. Can’t expect her to be a puppy again.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to make your dog feel better, this “missing link” might just be the ticket. It ain’t cheap, mind you, but nothin’ good is these days. And if it helps my Bessie be happy and healthy, well, that’s worth more than all the money in the world to me. She’s been my companion for so long, through thick and thin. Deserves the best, she does. And that’s all there is to it, no need for fancy words or complicated explanations. Just good food for a good dog.
It’s important to remember, though, that every dog is different. What works for Bessie might not work for your dog. Always best to talk to your vet, you know, the dog doctor, before you start givin’ your dog anythin’ new. They know more about this stuff than I do, that’s for sure. But I’m just tellin’ ya what I seen with my own two eyes. Bessie’s doin’ better, and that’s all that matters to me.
